The Plivo CLI lets you work with Plivo from your terminal. Connect a voice agent to a phone number, make a test call, find out why a call failed, send a message or check what you spent, without opening the console or writing API code. You can run the commands yourself, or connect the CLI to your coding agent, such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex, and ask for what you need in plain English.
Homebrew works on macOS and Linux. For Windows and other installers, see Install and log in.

Get started

  • Use it with a coding agent: paste one prompt into your coding agent. It installs the CLI and the Plivo skills, then does the work, asking you before anything that spends money.
  • Use it yourself: install with one command, log in through your browser, and list your numbers.

What you can do

You can also use it for calls, messaging, numbers, account and usage, questions to Plivo’s AI assistant and any other Plivo API.

Safe by default

  • Confirm gated actions. Buying a number, placing a call and deleting account resources require --yes. This is not a universal billing gate: number lookup is billed without it.
  • Preview first. --dry-run previews changes. Some checks still read account data, such as voice streams readiness.
  • Easy to script. Most commands return one JSON document with -o json. ask streams JSON Lines. Exit codes describe failures.
  • Secrets are redacted. Auth tokens and passwords normally read [REDACTED]. Creating a subaccount shows its new token once; --show-secrets reveals other redacted values.
See Configuration and troubleshooting for every flag, output format and exit code.
